Only 4 stars due to sizing issues. I have several pairs of Columbia pants so I ordered the same size in these shorts and WOW, I couldn’t even button the shorts. I ended up returning that pair and getting 2 sizes bigger!!! The new pair fit great and are super comfy. Hope this helps someone for having to exchange a pair.So I went ahead and ordered up a size like all of the other reviews suggested, and thank goodness I did! However, no one mentioned that they did not make these for people who have a butt! Lol. They fit perfectly at the waist, but because of my behind it didn't leave much room in the front of the pant. Whenever I took a step or sat down the front of the short would pull against my leg, leaving a less than desirable cupcake affect on my thigh. The material felt wonderful and I'm sure they would have been great for hiking... however if you have a curvier figure these shorts probably are not the ones for you. I unfortunately am sending my back and will continue my search for comfortable hiking shorts.I wear these shorts at least a couple of times a week! They are incredibly comfortable and are great for active people. I wear an 8 in most Columbia shorts so that's what I went with. When I got them, I could hardly get them past my hips. I'm hippy, have thick thighs, but a small waist. I exchanged them for a size up, and they're a perfect fit! You'll definitely want to order a size up. I am most definitely planning on ordering them again!This was the first time I've exchanged anything on amazon, and it was the easiest process ever!I ordered a size 4 which is what I normally wear and I could barely squeeze myself into these. They were super tight and short. I recommend going a size up or maybe 2 sizes up if you like a loose fit. The material was nice though and the pockets were subtle.Is a snap closure and tends to pop. Love the fit, length, color and style, but wish it was button closure.I’m 5’5, 130lbs and am between a size 4 and 6 depending on brand. I ordered a size 8 in the navy color and am glad I did. They fit quite well, but definitely run small so order a size up! The length on the shorts is nice too— just shorter than my fingertips when my arms are at my sides. Lots of pockets and feel like they will hold up trough backpacking trips.I usually wear an 8 or a 10, but these in a size 10 wouldn't even go over my thighs! I loved the style and look, but they were just too small. Maybe I'll reorder a few sizes up?Great quality hiking short! Fit was somewhat small and they don't really stretch with wear. However, the price was great and I liked them too much to return them. Recommend sizing up!True to size fit. Versatile. Comfortable. Easy to wash and hang dry. NO IRON!! Great for taking on vacations. Great quality. This is the 14th pair I've purchased (different colours)--love taking them and wearing them when I cruise.
